Every destination offers a range of hotels that can seem endless, so where do you begin? The type of hotel that will perfectly compliment your next holiday is going to depend on the way that you would like to travel.

Here is a checklist to help you find the perfect hotel for your holiday. Print it off and consider each point as you look at Package Holiday’s amazing offers.

Location

Sometimes we want to be in the centre of the action, and other times a little quite space is ideal. There are benefits to each. Being close to a city centre often means that you can walk to your destinations, being further away may mean hiring a car, but it also means seeing a part of the area that you would have otherwise missed.

  • Being able to walk to restaurants and attractions is very important to me (select a central location)
  • I would be happy to hire a car and drive to attractions if it means a lower hotel rate (compare rates with car hire costs to find the best deal)
  • Peace and quite are important to me. I would like to be removed from the city centre. (Look for a more remote location)

Amenities

Hotels can range from very simple, with a front desk and quaint rooms, to elaborate palace-like compounds with spas, shops, and endless activities. The one you choose will depend on your budget, and on how much time you plan to spend outside of the hotel.

  • I plan to be very busy outside of the hotel, and will rarely return before bedtime.
  • I plan to spend time relaxing at the hotel. (You may focus on the comfort of the hotel’s rooms and the room-service or on sight options that are available)
  • A swimming pool is very important to me.
  • I would like to make my own meals in a suite kitchenette.
  • I rely heavily on the advice of a concierge
  • Amenities are not as important to me as finding a great rate is.

Room Features

There is something to be said for a beautifully furnished, simple room. If you are planning to do little more than sleep there, the basics may be all you need for comfort. On the other hand, many hotels offer a wide range of features to suit different travellers. Think about what a perfect room means to you.

  • I need little more than a bed and a bathroom.
  • I require in-room internet service
  • I would like a mini-fridge
  • I plan to spend time in the hotel room and would like a sitting area with television.
  • We require more than one room, preferably joined.
  • A beautiful view is important to me.
  • Peace and quite are important to me.
  • We need special equipment such as a crib.
