The Kingdom of Denmark, Prominent southernmost Nordic country, famous as just Denmark, is situated in the northern Scandinavian Europe. This country borders Baltic and North Sea, and is the second most visited destination of Scandinavia after Sweden. Denmark is known for its natural beauty. Its capital city Copenhagen is home to Tivoli gardens and Amalienborg Palace, which reveal about Danish monarchy to the tourists. The Little Mermaid sculpture is worth seeing here. Aarhus is the second largest city after Copenhagen, and its famous Aarhus Cathedral is the biggest Danish cathedral considered a second largest cathedral of Northern Europe - definitely a must visit for the tourists.
Liberalism & Culture
This country is famous around the globe for its progressive attitude. The country enacted registered partnership law in 1989 that offered an opportunity to grant same-sex couples each of the rights and responsibilities of marriage. This country is known for its cultural innovation and folk traditions.
Food
Fish and meat are common items of Danish cuisine. They have a variety of dishes to gorge. Frikadeller is fried meatball taken with potatoes. Karbonader or krebinetter is a breaded dish here. It is prepared from fried minced meat and steaks. Fish items are a must-taste in the west coast of Jutland. Remoulade is a favourite condiment eaten with french fries, fried plaice and roast beef sandwiches.
Afternoon meals usually consist of smorrebrod or rugbrod sandwiches. Fish, marinated herring, smoked eel and hot fried breaded plaice are common dishes of Denmark and are a must-try.
