Skiing

The resort is equipped with 48 lifts and the biggest gondola in Austria. The great infrastructure at the resort, variety of programs for skiers and non-skiiers and beautiful alpine slopes make the resort, a great vacation spot. Free bus service in Mayrhofen links the resorts of Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, Koningsleiten and Hintertux glacier and forms around 625 kilometres of ski runs.
Sights
The Erlebnis Sennerei, a diary, opens to the visitors the cheese-making and diary products manufacturing processes. The Panoramic trail to the Schegeis reservoir, an important sight in any Mayrhofen itinerary offers scenic views of the resort. The Stillup reservoir and Zillergrund are some major sights in the resort.
The friendly village in Mayrhofen, Brandberg is renowned for its green meadows, dense woods and Brandberg Kolm Mountain. The village also houses the 'Old mill' that was built in the year 1857. The Brandberg chapel in the village is a popular pilgrimage centre. Multitudes of locals and tourists visit the chapel to worship Virgin Mary. Pfarrkirche, an important landmark of the resort was consecrated in 1511 and renovated in 1938. The church is famed for the stucco works, high altar, pulpit and ceiling paintings.
The Europabrunnen fountain enhances the quintessential European character of the resort. The six watercourses of the fountain stand for six municipalities that were constituents of the European partner ring. Zemm-Ziller power station and Zemmschlucht are other famous tourist spots of the region.
Zillertal Alps Nature Park is replete with natural splendour in the form of valley, rockfaces, lofty peaks and glaciers. Zillertal Alps comprises high mountains like Olperer and Reichenspitze. The charming natural setting of the park allows tourists to unwind in the midst of alluring scenery.
Things to do
Winter hiking with the well maintained trails, snow tubing, kayaking, rafting, horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding, skidoo and snowshoeing are prominent non-skiing activities in the resort. Visiting alpine huts and restaurants can be refreshing for a tourist after endless hours of skiing and activity. Billa Supermarket and Spar market are ideal places for retail therapy.
Apres Ski
Mayrhofen can appear like a sedate village with crystal clear lakes, complicated trails, high mountains and alpine diary farms. The fact that the Apres ski scene of Mayrhofen is lively is surprising. An array of slick bars and themed bars offers plenty of choices for the tourists.
Ice bar that captivates visitors with go-go polar bears is a favourite haunt of locals and tourists alike. A British pub, Scotland Yard transports one to England with all the paraphernalia intact. White lounge, an igloo bar is an Eskimo-themed bar. Mo's, an American-themed bar is thronged by chirpy youngsters and is famous for the live music played at the bar.
