Kaprun
A scenic Tyrolean village, Kaprun is situated closer to Zell am See resort. Kitzsteinhorn glacier is located near this beautiful resort. Highlights
A major must see sight; Kitzsteinhorn is located at an altitude of 2,931 metres. Tourists visit Kitzsteihorn in summer and winter. 'Panorama tunnel' that cuts across the mountain and provides a scenic view of the Hohe Tauern national park is a fabulous place to visit. Grossglockner, Austria's highest peak can be viewed from here.
Kapruner Tal or Kaprun valley is replete with alpine charm and dams. Kaprun Skiing
Skiing in Kaprun happens in three major areas like the Maiskogel area, Kitzsteinhorn glacial slopes and the Schmittenhohe Mountain. All these areas are accessible by the local bus service provided in the area. The Maiskogel area is perfectly suited for the novices. There are many gentle runs in the area that are ideal for the beginners to learn skiing. Kitzsteinhorn Glacier slopes pose a few challenges to the less experienced skiers. The snow-making facility in the lower elevations of the glaciers boosts the snow.
The Kitzsteinhorn area has ski season throughout the year and is thronged by skiers and snow boarders. Snowboarders can have great fun with the fun park on the Kaprun glacier. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier area is located at an altitude of 3,029 metres above the sea level, hence the good snow conditions all year long.
