Travel For Singles

If you are single and want to get away from it all, search for a good deal with companies who specialise in travel for singles.

People who travel single may be travelling alone because they are widowed, divorced, not in a relationship, or are simply just looking for an adventure on their own. Still, none of this means that travel isn’t possible. In fact, it is a fantastic way to meet a host of new people in a holiday environment.

The benefits of organising travel on your own with a travel for singles company are numerous. The most obvious benefit is that you may be travelling alone, but you will inevitably meet like-minded people who are also travelling single.

Another benefit is that now the trend of travel for singles has caught on, the industry now has an extensive range of choices for you to choose from. Some companies specialise in women’s only singles travel, so if you are a single lady looking to make some new girl friends on holiday then there is a company out there who can provide it.

There is a similar choice as to what kind of holiday you desire to take. Some companies offer a beach holiday or similar; days spent lying in the sun with a book and a fruity cocktail you can’t pronounce. Others have started to cater to the more adventurous single travellers. Now, it is possible to go on an adventure holiday for singles, either abroad or in England.

Some websites for singles travel companies will stress that they have ‘no single supplement’. Cruise companies and tour operators once insisted that a supplement must be paid if a traveller were to be travelling alone as, price-wise, they would prefer if people travelled in twos or more. Now, with modern life increasing the demand for singles travel, many travel companies have dropped their single supplement.

Today, it is mostly cruise holidays which are least open to single travellers, and will often encourage you to find someone of the same sex (or not) on your holiday to share a room with. However many will allow you to pay on a per-person rate if you cannot find anyone suitable.

However, not all travel companies aimed at single travellers will offer holidays with ‘no single supplement’. If price and privacy are a real pull for you, bear this in mind.

Travel for singles has shown an increase over the last few years, with companies tailoring to this specific holiday desire very regularly finding their holidays fully booked year after year. The idea that you necessarily have to travel in a pair like the animals on Noah’s ark is no longer always accepted.
